Abstract

The study reveals that the Iraqi audience prefers using mobile journalism to obtain news and information due to several factors. Among these factors are ease of use, interactivity, and speed of news delivery. The availability of mobile phones and their ease of use are considered the primary reasons for the audience's reliance on mobile journalism as a substitute for traditional journalism. The study also indicates that political news accounts for a significant portion of the audience's engagement with mobile journalism in Iraq. Data further suggests the audience's preference for using mobile journalism as an alternative to traditional journalism for various reasons. The widespread use of mobile phones is partly attributed to their ease of use, interactivity, and speed of news delivery. Additionally, the audience considers mobile phones as substitutes for traditional journalism due to their accessibility. Moreover, the data shows that young people and those with higher education degrees prefer using mobile journalism to a greater extent. To enhance traditional journalism and keep pace with technological advancements, it is recommended to employ mobile journalists and provide them with training courses. Furthermore, it is advised to develop traditional media outlets on online platforms and social media, strengthen ethical training and oversight for journalists in the mobile journalism field, provide legal protection, and encourage participation in events and seminars to address mobile journalism-related issues.
