Abstract

This article provides an extensive discussion of metaphor, which is considered to be the most widely used type of figures of speech in linguistics. Then, it explains the interrelationship between linguoculturology and metaphors, which are considered to be the most important branches of linguistics. Examples of linguocultural metaphors are given in both languages, and the given examples are analyzed etymologically, historically and culturally.
