Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the metaphorical features of the verb "emok" ("eat, eat"). The paper examines the semantic transformations of this verbal lexeme, the mechanisms of metaphorical transfer of meaning, as well as the phraseological units that include the verb "emok". Based on the analysis of the linguistic material, the main directions of metaphorization related to physical, social, mental and mental processes are revealed. is given to the cultural-specific features of the use of the verb "emok" in a figurative meaning, which allows us to trace the connection between linguistic processes and the national picture of the world of the Uzbek people. The study was carried out in the mainstream of cognitive linguistics and linguoculturology.
