The article is devoted to the study of the problems of participation of the institute of official witnesses in the criminal procedure legislation of Uzbekistan. The author analyzes the genesis of this institute. At the same time, various negative aspects of law enforcement practice in this area are investigated. Attention is drawn to the procedure for using technical means of fixation as an analogue of the procedure for attracting of official witnesses.
