THE ROLE OF ELLIPTICAL STRUCTURES IN THE STRUCTURE OF A LITERARY TEXT (BASED ON THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE)

Abstract

This article touches on the topic of elliptical structures in the structure of literary text. They constitute the means of conveying indirect expression. And they can convey emotional, logical and objective-evaluative information. The use of ellipsis in fiction emphasizes the character and style of the author. Elliptical constructions have the specificity of the absence of a verb predicate, a verb that was not mentioned in the context, i.e. for the transmission of the message is not necessary in a semantic sense. Due to the absence of a verbal predicate, they can contain the meaning represented by the context.
