Abstract
Proverbs and sayings are a storehouse of folk wisdom, a reflection of the worldview of the people, a set of rules of conduct. Russian proverbs and sayings about a man and a woman have been analyzed, the author of the article has identified the stereotypical ideas of the Russian people about male and female qualities and compared them.
